Festival season. I.e. What photographers do when we aren't taking photos.
Today was set up for Chastain Park Arts and Crafts festival. Chastain Park is located in a beautiful North Atlanta neighborhood adjacent to a golf course, equestrian center, and private school. There's even an amphitheater for live music. Tomorrow we will see if there are any buyers out there for my photos.
I had trouble sleeping last night, nervous about getting everything ready, mentally making checklists for everything I needed to take, and wondering how my art would be received.
After all, I'm still a fledging in the art world with less than five shows under my belt. Art festivals are all about sales and I'm not much of a salesperson. At least, not yet. But I'm working on it!
It's the business side of an artsy profession and any photographer selling art would rather be spending the time taking photos. Everyone has to pay the bills, so here's hoping for a profitable weekend.
